Sunshine Coast Visual and Photographic Waste Assessment

Do you know the composition of the waste entering your landfill facility from regional transfer stations? How much of the material entering the landfill is potentially recoverable?

EnviroCom recently completed an audit which assessed the waste from eight different Sunshine Coast waste facilities. The audit identified the composition of waste generated from self-haul (public generated) and transfer stations that entered landfill through an objective visual compositional data assessment methodology.  The methodology included specific visual assessment of whole load and cut load and the recording of photographic evidence of the samples.  These data sources were then compared in secondary desktop analysis to verify the composition of the loads by independent assessors.  The methodology was designed to achieve the required outcomes within the constraints of timeframes and budgets.  The audit gained an accurate picture of the self-haul and transfer station waste streams, considered the success of resource recovery at the point of disposal (including rural transfer stations) and this was done within one week!
